The Knox Seasonless Collection
For a number of years now we’ve been enjoying the Knox Seasonless collection. The company have basically taken the old detachable lining option that many clothing manufacturers have developed and taken it to a whole new level.
At the start of this is a protective core that protects the wearer in any weather. This layer consists of a back protector, shoulder and elbow armour. All of this is housed in a fully ventilated, close fitting, jacket. It’s also very light and very easy to move in. Staying safe is where the collection starts.
Smart looking outer
On the outside there is a perfectly functional over jacket. This piece looks like a casual jacket. With a selection of pockets, a hidden hood that's cut to go under my helmet making it a windproof balaclava that keeps the cruel, cruel, northerly wind off my neck, and a cut that makes for something that could be could worn on a first date, this is one of my very favourite light coats. While it’s not sold as being waterproof, it is very, very water resistant. I regularly get across a rainy city without getting wet.
If, like me, you have a problem with the cold then there’s a middle layer to stave off the chill. This thermal layer is made from Themolite Plus. This piece of cleverness uses hollow fibres, these keep me warm, but do so without taking up an awful lot of space and it weighs next to nothing.
Wonderfully warm inner
Rather than leaving both to be taken off separately, they zip together which allows them to be worn as one. Little details such as the card holder on the sleeve which allows for contactless payments and the fleece lined pockets make for a piece of kit that is incredibly comfortable on a number of different levels.
The pockets are very clever. With four external, one of which is on the back of the jacket, this is one that really helps when it comes to keeping those Ryanair extra costs down. Everything about all three layers are built with the quality that we expect from Knox.
