Down on one knee with RST for 2025
Just as it’s important to check over your bike as you prepare to take to the track, either to race or play, it’s also important that I check my kit. It is, I find, very easy to overlook this, after all I bought new kit a few years ago so what could be wrong with it? The answer is worth checking up on.
Some of the stuff available is vet well priced. Just some of those pieces are from RST.
Having launched myself into the sky a number of times while demonstrating my brilliance I wear Arai’s premium helmet, the RX 7V. It has all the ratings and a huge following among racers, particularly in the TT and road racing in general. It is, I believe, the best on the market and as I don’t have a spare head I’m not wearing anything else!

The only one I'm wearing!
The big ticket item is always going to be the suit. While a two piece setup with a full connector zip is acceptable at most trackdays a full one piece is a lot safer. This year sees the fourth version of the team at RSRTs Evo. This is their premium suit, the one worn by racers all over the planet. Both kangaroos and cows have selflessly given their worthless lives to protect your hide in the event of a fall. Stitching them with aramid fibres means that the panels will stay together in the event of a slide. External protection has also been reworked. The airbag is built in.

And no, it won't hold your stomach in...
Hands are protected via the TracTech Evo 4 glove. Once again Skippy and Daisy are less than happy about the situation, the same aramid stitching is used and complimented with a level 1 carbon knuckle. Perforated leather and pre curved fingers are all part of the package.

They also look really good
Caring for our feet and lower legs are the boots, this years choice of footwear is the new Tractech Evo III. They’ve been designed and developed from the companies extensive racing experience. A significant amount of their development effort goes into making them ware able, if they’re not comfortable then they’re not going to be worn. To this end they’ve got a moulded These ones are CE certified and have a moulded heel cockpit and TPU shin armour. As well as being easier to wear these bits also offer additional impact protection.

We really like the ankle brace
The really clever bit is the underlayer. These maintain the wearers core temperature. This is particularly helpful in warm weather as they wick away body moisture and make that unpleasant sticking to the inside of your suit a thing of the past. They also work really well in cold weather, so they’re worth keeping out of your kit bag for winter.

Base layers make everything fit better and more comfortably
All of this is available from Kennedy Motorcycles. Give James a shout and get dressed properly.
