Knox. Safe, Comfortable and Warm

Knox redefine the word 'waterproof'

Rainproof

Famous Scottish motorcyclist and a very funny guy, Billy Connolly, once observed 'There's no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothing’. We couldn’t agree more with Mr Connollys assessment of the situation. To that end we’re always on the look out for the correct clothing for the season. This particular season is both wet and cold, so the right clothing would be defined by its waterproof qualities.

The crew at Knox have a range of clothing to make riding through the wetter months so, so much easier. For this year there’s a new pair of Walker waterproof trousers. The MK2 offering is cut for a unisex and improved fit. Learning from riders habits and needs the new over trousers see their performance improved by a staggering 50%, and that was from a very high base!

These are a single layer affair with sealed seams, an elasticated waist and an ease of use that sees them go on and over any of the companies jeans or trousers. While still being incredibly light, they have a base of tri laminate fabric and a class leading 15k waterproof membrane. The reflective panels assist when it comes to avoiding being murdered by a Volvo driving maniac who’s exiting the Mahon Point shopping centre in Cork after having a row with the ‘Style Advisor’ sometime in the second week of February.

Tailored for the female form

They can be machine washed, they have their own storage bag and the ankle can be adjusted by means of a leg gusset. I only put that last bit in because I find the word ‘gusset’ to be deeply uncomfortable and I hope you do too.

Meanwhile the new Welbeck jacket has also been updated to the same standards with the same waterproofing and durability. This one comes with a concealed hood and a draw string. Both can be stowed in the zip-able pocket in the collar. There are two interior pockets, with one being zipped. Once again, it comes with its own bag. The zips are YKK Aquaguard  waterproof affairs and the Knox branding is just subtle enough.

As dry getting off the bike as you were getting onto it

The Willow waterproof shell is a ladies cut over jacket finished to the same standards. It’s cut specifically for the female shape and comes with one more pocket than the Welbeck. Once again one of the pockets is secured with a zip.

Both of the jackets can be worn with the Walker pants where elasticated cuffs are making sure that the water doesn’t get in. They both go over existing Knox clothing. In order to accommodate the armour and thermal layers all three of the pieces can be found in sizes from XS all the way up to XXXL. All include branding, a mark of pride from one of the best clothing manufacturers on the planet as well as those life saving reflective panels.

You can find the range at AMI in Gorey or in the online store at www.planet-knox.com.

They’re available in any colour under the sun as long as the only colour that you want is black.
